But there is one little design tool I hadn&#8217;t thought much about &#8211; I wonder if I&#8217;m the only one?<\/p>\n<p>I came across an <a title=\"Finding value in old content\" href=\"http:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/2012\/05\/finding-value-in-old-content\/\">old blog post<\/a> on what appears to be a prosperous blog. It was an interesting post but very much an introduction to a topic so I was interested to read more. In fact, the post ended with a comment like &#8220;Next time I&#8217;ll tackle how to do this&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/blog_post_links.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6530\" src=\"http:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/blog_post_links.jpg\" alt=\"Links to previous and next blog posts\" width=\"475\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/blog_post_links.jpg 568w, https:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/blog_post_links-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/blog_post_links-150x56.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Next post is very handy<\/h2>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t find the next post on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>The blogger didn&#8217;t go back and <a title=\"Blog post linking\" href=\"http:\/\/wordconstructions.com.au\/blog\/2012\/04\/linking-from-blog-posts\/\">add a link<\/a> after he wrote the next post (assuming he actually he did write it!), didn&#8217;t give the title of the new post in the first post and the blog layout did not include a &#8216;next post&#8217; or &#8216;previous post&#8217; link on the page.<\/p>\n<p>I take the next post link for granted really and don&#8217;t think about it much. Does your blog have it?<\/p>\n<p>Do you find it strange when blogs don&#8217;t have such navigation links?<\/p>\n<p>Many times I read a blog and ignore the next\/previous because I just read one post or I want to read about a topic so use the search function rather than read in sequential order. Yet today I discovered a very important use of this navigation tool.<\/p>\n<p>From now, <strong>I value the next\/previous post link much more and would never publish a blog without it.
