It’s winter and many of us are in some form of lock down so what better time to catch up on some reading!\u00a0 \"happy<\/a><\/p>\n

I have just placed an order for some books with Book Depository<\/a> and discovered they are running a read-a-thon. So in case it inspires you to read, or gives you some motivation to try some different books, I thought I’d share the idea here.<\/p>\n

Get reading!<\/h2>\n

Basically, they are giving some ‘rules’ to guide your reading between 23 and 30 August:<\/p>\n

  1. Read a book that was released in 2021
    \nI think I might try     Before she disappeared<\/a> or Apples never fall<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Read a book with an LGBTQIA+ character
    \nFor something different, how about     Santa’s husband<\/a>?<\/li>\n
  3. Read a prizewinning book
    \n    No Friend But the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison\u00a0<\/em>by Behrouz Boochani<\/a> is a good one to try, as is Taboo<\/em>\u00a0by Kim Scott<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Read the first book in a series
    \nI found     Shatter by Michael Robotham<\/a> an edge-of-your-seat thriller<\/li>\n
  5. Read a book inspired by women
    \nThe first to come to mind for me is     I am Malala<\/a>, followed by The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Read a book that has been featured on our blog
    \n    The book thief<\/a> is one of these, and I enjoyed reading that<\/li>\n
  7. Read a book that will help you fulfill a resolution or a goal
    \nIf growing your business is a resolution or goal for you, you may like to read\u00a0    my Breadmaker review<\/a>. Or maybe your goal is to\u00a0gain and retain more customers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
